"Life is all about choices; the choices you make, will affect your future.
Thus, with every GOOD decision, always remember...You're Worth It!"
Founded by Canena Adams in May of 2014, Women of Worth, Inc. is a Faith Based, Women’s Health & Family Resource Organization. "WOW" began as a Sexual Integrity Program and Women's Support Group under the Sponsorship of Pat Sager (Executive Director of Birthline of Jackson). Canena has a deep love and passion to see young women grow into the women they were created to be. Canena lives by the following motto: “It's all about wholeness! A Healthy Mind. A Healthy Body. A Healthy Soul." Canena often shares her testimony of her challenging journey and how she ultimately found “Success-in-CHRIST”, as well as her decision to "break the cycle" via making healthier lifestyle choices. Canena is open, honest, and very transparent regarding her past experience as a troubled teen, High School drop-out, a teen Mother (twice), and her life-changing journey as a teen parent.
Canena Adams currently serves as founder and Director of Women of Worth, Inc.; and Co-Owner of BeYou Branding and Consulting Services, LLC, both located in Jackson, MI.
Canena wears many hats as she’s also a wife of 17 years to her business partner and best friend Gregory Adams; she’s a mother of 5, and a mentor to many. Canena has held various leadership positions, which includes her current position (founder and Director of “WOW”); Interim Executive Director of Marriage Matters Jackson, Women’s Chair/President of a Women’s Group (a position she held for over 14 years); Outreach Specialist/Social Worker of her county’s Department on Aging through their local Health Department; and Link Scholars Program Advisor for Spring Arbor University.
Canena is a certified SRA (Sexual Risk Avoidance) Specialist and uses her credentials and expertise via public speaking and teaching healthy relationship sessions’ in local public, private and charter schools within her community - and by hosting and participating in community events. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and an MA in Communication and Leadership from Spring Arbor University. Canena considers herself to be very versatile in that she is comfortable in one-on-one settings but has also stood on larger platforms as the keynote speaker with audiences of 700 or more. Canena has taught, keynoted, and facilitated groups and events for faith-based organizations as well as secular. In addition to her role as Director of Women of Worth, Inc., Canena also does contractual work with her County, State, and the US Department of Health and Human Services. Her motto and favorite saying: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
In her “down-time” Canena enjoys reading, writing, researching all things health, shopping, great food, and spending time with her family and loved ones (as her Marriage/Family is her first Ministry).
